My afternoon with a mouse...I mean mole!

Today was my day off this week and I had originally planned on doing laundry and cleaning but instead I thought I would try to mow our yard without the assistance of Brent.

I know how to mow, but I don't get a "close" to things as Brent would like me to! I get nervous edging along the ditch and struggle going up some hills. I did learn today that if I lean back I usually can make it up a hill on the 2nd try!

So, I mowed for about 4 hours. It doesn't take Brent that long to mow but I was taking my sweet time jamming out to my ipod. I downloaded The Band Perry's newest (maybe only) CD. I am in LOVE with it!

After mowing the upper half of our yard I came in to get some water and decided I would cut up some strawberries. Brent and I went and picked a butt load of strawberries at my mother in laws house. Since she is in Colorado for about a month I'm in charge of keeping her garden weed free! HAH! And also picking strawberries out of her patch.

ANYHOW, while I was cutting up strawberries a mouse ran across my foot. I FREAKED out..ran into the other room and stood on a chair and called Brent. I insisted he come home pronto and take care of the little creature. I am NOT ok with rodents in my house! Of course, I had no idea where it went after I ran out of the room crying/screaming/shaking! He came home, pulled out the oven, fridge, and dishwasher and of course NO mouse. All I could think was I am not going to sleep tonight knowing there was a mouse loose in our house. And when I informed Brent that I was still scared he told me "Mice do not attack people" wow..thanks Brent I will for sure sleep better tonight.

After finishing cutting up strawberries and making a strawberry pie I decided to go finish mowing down around the grain bins and barns etc. I came back inside to shower and make supper and of COURSE as soon as I get out of the shower, walking to change into some clothes I see the "mouse" I this time feel brave knowing Brent is just outside putting round-up on the laneway and I get the broom (while standing in a towel) and corner the nasty little thing. Yell outside for Brent to come in side NOW because I have the mouse. He walks in and says....That is NOT a mouse that is a mole! WHAT THE HELL!!! Now, I am wishing it was a mouse! ugh, life on the farm. Enjoy the photo shoot Brent had with the "mouse" I mean "Mole" after he got it outside!

First time ever making a pie! I'm anxious to taste it tonight!

I wish this was a tan line! Intsead its what my feet looked like after mowing
Well, hopefully that was the ONLY rodent I find in this house for a very long time or we will NOT be living here much longer!
