Bump Date: 34 Weeks

How far along: 34 Weeks

Size of Baby: 17-19 inches and 4.2-5.8lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Still a little of both, I can wear a majority of my regular tops but all maternity pants.

Gender: Guess we'll all find out in May cause we're going to let it be a surprise!

Movement: Lots!

Sleep: I would love to sleep all day everyday, but I usually get about 5 good hours of sleep at night.

What I miss: Not having swollen feet. My feet resemble Fred Flintstones feet.

Symptoms: HEART BURN! This has been horrible the last couple weeks.

Cravings: Anything and everything, since Dairy Queen has opened in Harlan for the season I am in heaven.

Best Moment of the Week: It wasn't this week, but it has been since I blogged, for the longest time our baby has been sitting breech. Not anymore, he or she is head down and ready to make an appearance next month!!

Looking Forward To: My feet not being swollen and actually being able to see my feet when standing up. We start going to our appointments weekly now, and that means we are that much closer to getting to meet our miracle!

In other news, My sister Ashley had her baby one week ago today! Lia Michele was born March 26th. She weighted 7.6lbs and was 19" long. She is beautiful, however please keep Lia in your prayers as she was born with several heart defects and will be undergoing surgery in the near future. Also, please keep my sister and her husband, and my nephew Jack in your prayers for strength and understanding during this time.

We have now mowed twice, and it is only April 2nd. Hard to believe. Wrigley has been enjoying this weather a lot because that means we are outside a lot more! We even got his pool out for him to cool off in during the day!

We had to pick up some sticks/limbs before we could mow last weekend and this is how Wrigley helped, he layed on the trailor and sun bathed.

Finishing touches

We decided instead of spending a chunk of money on a changing table we would turn an old dresser we had into a dresser/changing table that we could use in the nursery.

This project started off as a disaster!!!! I was going to try to get it done. Well, I couldn't figure out how to use the sander so I thought, I would just sand it by hand. NO THANKS. I did a few swipes and quit until Brent got home. He is so helpful!

Once Brent had it sanded I started to prime and paint. He didn't need to assist with that since I thought I could handle it. I came up from the basement with tears in my eyes. I wanted lime green and it was the wrong color completely! He told me maybe it was the lighting (so optimistic) but he could tell by my face it wasn't what I was wanting.

That weekend my parents came over and we painted the circles for the nursery, that is the LIME GREEN I wanted. So, Monday Brent took the hoop to the local hardware store and had them match the green. ITS PERFECT! He re-painted the dresser for me. Its perfect! He finished it yesterday morning and now its in the nursery. We still need to get new "hardware" for it, but I can't figure out what kind of handles I want. Having this done is one step closer to our baby being here!!

In Wrigley news....He has been a pain in the you know what! I found him wandering a couple miles away covered in mud. Brent was at work and I was not about to put him in the jeep being that muddy. So I rolled the window down and yelled for him to come home. I drove slow thinking he would follow my vehicle. Hah, that lasted about 1/2 a mile, because he then decided to just go in this field and "rest". I called Brent and he came and got him. Somebody got tied up for a few hours that day and HATED it! Naughty puppy! How many more years of puppy years?

This Sunday is my first baby shower thrown by some really great friends here in Harlan. I am super excited! It all is becoming so real. Last night we put together the stroller and car seat! Less than 10 weeks left!

Last weekend I was able to finally meet Levi and see Amanda. Their little family is perfect! We had a baby shower for Amanda and Levi. I also was able to spend some quality time with my grandparents. I think that might be the last trip to eastern Iowa before the baby is born!

Bump Date: 28 Weeks (Almost 29)

I usually do a short little survey for my bump date information but I thought I would just skip that this time. However, we will be 29 weeks on Tuesday! Last week we had our 28 week check up and everything was looking perfect. Other than the shot in the butt for my Rhogam shot. OUCHIE!!

28 weeks and feeling great!!

 Last weekend my mom and I went down to Wichita! Of course I loved every moment spent with Jack. I mean, I loved seeing Ashley and Ryan and Lia growing in Ashley, but Jack is at such a fun age! I miss him so much!

 While we were down in Wichita we got some shopping done, attended a shower for Ashley and Lia, and mostly hung out with Jack!

He is in love with hot wheels. We each have been assigned a hot wheel from Jack. Mine is the purple one on the right.

This weekend after I got off work my parents and Jameson made a trip to our house for the afternoon so my mom and I could do some painting and decorating in the nursery. Thanks to pinterest we were able to create some wall decor!

Finished project! The chair is staged int his corner so it didn't look like a big empty space. Brent and I are working on painting an old dresser to be the changing table that will go in the corner.

Next weekend I am heading to Washington to help welcome Levi Donald Adam with a baby shower for him and Amanda! My best friend Amanda and her husband Troy welcomed a healthy baby boy into the world on February 17th!

Nursery Sneak Peek

Since we are not finding out what we are having it is kind of difficult to pick a gender neutral nursery. However, I have a AWESOME and VERY talented mom who is going to make the baby bedding! YAY! While we were in Wichita many moons ago (2010) during our first pregnancy I came across this fabric. Of course we didn't get to use it. My mom offered to buy all new fabric for this baby, but why? I am still in love with it, and it deserves to be used. So the decorating has begun!!!

I also need to give props to my mother in law Coleen. She painted the nursery for us (Brent did assist). How could we all forget that bright orange!!!

We have a couple projects that Brent and I are working on to also go in the nursery. But those aren't ready to be photographed! As long as it is done before May I can't complain!!!


Also, I need to wish these two very wonderful girls (ladies) a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Amanda's birthday was on the 28th and Courtney's is on the 30th. Hope you both had/have a very special day love you both!!!

Bumpdate: Almost 25 weeks

How far along: Almost 25 weeks

Size of Baby: 13-14 inches 1.5-2.5 lbs. (about the size of an eggplant)

Maternity Clothes: Still a little of both, I can wear a majority of my regular tops but all maternity pants.

Gender: Guess we'll all find out in May cause we're going to let it be a surprise!

Movement: TONS, he or she loves to pretend they are a ninja about 2am. My doctor told me to be prepared for a 2am feeding if the baby is always moving at that time. Brent also got to feel the baby kick. Awesome moment for the "3" of us!

Sleep: Other than getting up multiple times a night to pee, sleep is amazing!!!

What I miss: not a lot of anything, I've adjusted to being pregnant finally.

Symptoms: I knocked on wood before writing this, but I didn't get sick that last couple days!!! Hope it keeps going in that direction!

Cravings: Milk. We go through milk so fast in our house now. I could drink it around the clock! And clementines!!!

Best Moment of the Week: We are registered, we had a lot of fun doing that

Looking Forward To: I am looking forward to our next appointment on February 3rd. It is my glucose test so I am looking forward to getting that over with. My doctor gave me the option of drinking the "flat" orange pop or eating jelly beans. I chose the flat orange pop, I know many people think I'm crazy if I was being offered Jelly Beans, but they are BIG jelly beans and there are 17 of them to eat. I'd rather just drink the nasty stuff and be done!

Not a whole lot else going on around here. I am busy trying to put the nursery together. This weekend I will be painting an old dresser that will be used as a changing table. Stay tuned for a sneak peak of the nursery!

 

This fall Brent put a door from the kitchen to the back porch. We decided we weren't going to let Wrigley come inside the house anymore except the back porch so this door has been handy. However, he just sits staring at the door waiting for it to open hoping he can make it inside the house. Spoiled dog!!!

 

This is kind of blurry but this is what he'll do when he comes in on the porch, just sit and wait. Also, Brent and I both were on the back porch with him, but he just wanted inside so bad. He'll learn!

 

A big scare turned into a PERFECT day!

For a few days I had cramping and pressure. At first I didn't think anything of it but on Wednesday it got really severe and painful. Of course our doctor doesn't work on Wednesdays. I left a message with his nurse who called me back and told me to take it easy and drink lots of fluids and they'll give me a call Thursday after they talk to Dr. Markham. SERIOUSLY....are you crazy, I feel like something is wrong and you want me to take it easy! I called my mother-in-laws good friend Julie who is a SAINT! She is a nurse at the clinic we go to. I called her and she knew our history of a previous miscarriage and told me to come to her office and we would at least do a doppler. I rushed out of work, Brent met me at her office and we heard this perfect little heart beat. I just started to cry. Julie told me anytime I needed to come in and hear the heartbeat give her a call she didn't care if it was going to be 20+ more times!

However, I was still having pressure and cramping so the next day they ordered an ultra sound. We hadn't seen our baby since our 6 week ultrasound. Words can not express the love and emotion that we have for this baby and seeing that it looked like a baby is amazing. I could have stayed in that room watching its arms and legs move all over for the entire day! Everything looks great, the baby is breech and really low so that would explain the pressure and cramping!

While we were in there the baby kept sticking its tongue out and putting its fist in its mouth. I know I was emotional about it due to thinking something was wrong, but I think even Brent got a little lump in his throat during that moment. It was such a special moment for the two of us. We worked so hard to have that moment to share together and I will never forget it, and couldn't have asked for a better person to experience it with!

We didn't find out the sex of the baby even though we could have. The ultrasound tech just had us turn away during that part! I kept wanting to peek but it will be so exciting to see what we're having in May. I dream of the look in Brent's eyes when we're told if its a boy or girl! I am very anxious for that day!

We were told everything looks perfect and that they aren't going to worry about the baby being breech until later since there is a lot of room and time for it to turn around. I shared this picture with my brother-in-laws and their comments were "looks like a boy, look at the size of that head" or "wow check out those shoulders, good luck" Thanks guys! Jerks!

Baby Schumacher- 18 weeks old

Size of Baby: 5.1 inches or 5.9 ounces (the size of an onion)

Maternity Clothes: Little bit of both! Maternity pants are more comfy but can still wear some of my regular sweaters with a long tank top underneath.

Gender: Guess we'll all find out in May cause we're going to let it be a surprise!

Movement: Not yet, but super excited to start feeling our little baby!

Sleep: Can't get enough!

What I miss: Being able to eat fish whenever I want

Symptoms: Still having morning sickness. I usually just get sick once every morning around 7am, then I'm good for the day!

Cravings: Oreos and milk

Best Moment of the Week: Having a great 16 week check up and hearing Dr. Markham tell us our baby is growing perfect!

Looking Forward To: Our 20 week appointment and ultrasound. We haven't had an ultra sound since 6 weeks.

In other news we had quite the snow storm yesterday. It started snowing about 10am and didn't stop for a good 10 to 12 hours later. We ended up with a few inches of snow and under the snow there is quiet a bit of ice since it rained early yesterday morning.

I am very grateful for my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Last year I worked from home while living on gravel roads, so I didn't have to travel to work when the weather was bad. I worked yesterday and drove home during the storm and had NO PROBLEMS! Our lane way has a bit of an incline to get into the garage and I didn't have to take a running start since I had the jeep! I feel a lot better not being so low to the ground this winter also.

And lets not forget my 1st baby! (Its ok Dad I know your rolling your eyes) Wrigley is loving the snow! He stays outside all the time and yep that means during this super cold time of the year! He officially has his "winter coat" so he stays really warm. Isn't he just precious!!

Sorry for the mess this is on the back porch. I'll be honest we don't keep it picked up!

This weekend Brent's relatives were deer hunting at our place. We stopped by and talked to them while they were finishing up today and asked them if Wrigley was in their way at all, of course they enjoyed him but they gave him a new name they call Wrigley "White Fang"....hmm..ok? I don't think he looks like a white fang but its pretty funny.

Wrigley has also made a new friend. The semi driver Jamie who hauls my father-in-laws grain from our house said "Your dog loves to wrestle" apparently  Jamie played and wrestled with Wrigley for about an hour one afternoon while waiting for a truck to be loaded! Wrigley loves attention!

And finally, Please keep my Grandpa Rosien in your prayers for his recent lung cancer diagnosis. He will be having surgery December 23rd to remove the tumors!
