Good-Bye Facebook

I finally decided that today would be the day that I deactivated my facebook for awhile. Since I started working from home it has consumed my life. I get up in the morning and get on facebook, I am on it during the day, and then I'm check it at night multiple times.

To be completely honest what made me decide was that a lot of people have been posting that they are pregnant. That is supposed to be an exciting time for them but it brought tears to my eyes of jealousy! I want to be that girl that announces it on facebook, but I'm not. I am not able to say I am pregnant and may never be able to say that. Facebook isn't supposed to make me sad and that it what it was doing.

Don't get me wrong I am very happy for those girls who have recently announced they are pregnant. One person in particular, a life long family friend of ours has struggled with PCOS (same thing I have) and her and her husband adopted a beautiful girl from Uganda. Well, she announced today that she is pregnant! I am so happy for her because I know of her struggle because I can relate to it 100%! She is an inspiration to me, Congratulations Charity!

Yes, I will eventually get back on facebook but hopefully it will take me a few months to feel the urge to be back on the addicting website.

There are some other big changes going on in my life, tomorrow is my last day at Martin Health Pharmacy! I will be starting at HyVee Pharmacy in Harlan on Monday May 2nd! I have wanted to work there since we moved here over a year ago and finally there was a full time position open for me. I will be working four ten-hour days Monday-Thursday and every 3rd Saturday. I am so excited to get back into the HyVee "world"!!!

I am going out to dinner with some friends from Martin Health tomorrow and I am super excited to hang out with them one last time!

Happy Birthday Wrigley

I can't believe Wrigley is 1 year old tomorrow (4-24-11). Since we will be in Des Moines most of the day tomorrow and then at my inlaws tomorrow night I thought I would do a post for Wrigley's birthday and then I'll post one about how we celebrated!

I'll never forget pulling in the lane way Sunday night after being at the Big Country Bash in Des Moines. Out walked this cute little white lab puppy!

Brent surprised me with him! It was the best gift. We had recently expierenced a miscarriage and Brent knew I needed something to cheer me up. Why not a puppy? I've been begging for a dog for many years!

I wanted to name him Stewie but Brent said "No, he doesn't look like a Stewie". I had never had the chance to name an animal other than fish so I really did have the final say. I said Wrigley and Brent agreed that he looked like a Wrigley.

Granted there are times I have been so mad at Wrigley...ex) bringing dead animals to me (mole, turtle, deer legs, etc.) tearing up my mulch and laying on my plants, shredding EVERYTHING he could get his teeth on. But when it comes down to it he is like a child to me. He's part of our family! (Yes, dad I know you're rolling your eyes at that comment)

I posted the pictures of Wrigley and us the first couple days we had him. I miss him being only 8 lbs. We haven't weighed him in a few months but last we weighed him he was about 85 lbs.

Wrigley has been through a lot his first year of life. Learning to sleep outside and be a real farm dog, being ran over by my mother-in-law, and being best friends with a farm cat named Pat.

I'm ready for him to be done with the puppy years so I can enjoy having things outside and not worry about if he is going to chew them or not!

Happy Birthday Wrigley!!

Spring...come back!

Brent has been spending a lot of time outside. He is turing the corn crib into his "shop". I asked him what he needed a shop for and he told me that he would like the option in case one day he needed it.

Someone left about 17 BIG solid doors in the corn crib (yes I counted) and so Brent turned those into his work bench. I don't have a picture of those but it actually turned out pretty great.

One afternoon I heard some loud noises coming from the "shop" area and went and checked it out. Brent decided he wanted to knock out the walls on one side of the corn crib and move to the other wall.

This is the remains of some of the stuff Brent knocked out

This is Brent knocking down the walls. During this he came across some old oats..smells like old livestock in there now but he doesn't mind. I don't go in there very often so I guess I don't care either.

I decided I would try to get a cute picture of Wrigley and I. He would look at the camera just until I was about to take it and then he would sniff my face. Ugh!

This is as good of a picture I got of the two of us while waiting for Brent to finish up so we could go on the 4-wheeler.

We live right by the river. I think its the Nishnabotna River so we rode the 4 wheeler down to the river and around the ground my father in law farms.

I took a few pictures of our ride on the 4-wheeler. Brent drives a little faster that I approve of while I'm on the back. At one point I told him to SLOW down and we were only going 35. He informed me that is slow and he usually goes around 50-55mph. NO, that is not ok!

We enjoyed the warm weather we had while it lasted. We did lots of yard work. Note to self...teach your dog to do his business FAR away from the house. I'm sick of picking up after him. We also had to pick up sticks. We have a lot of old oak trees and they loose a lot of their branches when it gets windy.

Brent bought a bunch of mulch so we'll be putting more mulch down if it would ever warm up again. We put down black paper and new mulch last year but Wrigley thought the black paper was a toy and tore it up in random places so we decided to just pull it all out and fight the weeds until Wrigley realizes its NOT a toy!

Speaking of Wrigley- He will be 1 tomorrow! I can't believe he is already a year old! I plan on having some cake for him and of course I got him a birthday hat. I'll try to get pictures of that tomorrow afternoon.

We're heading to Norwalk this afternoon. We're having Easter with the Rosien side this evening (Saturday), Sunday after church we're having Easter with the Bolsem side, and then Sunday evening we'll head over to my in-laws for Easter supper with the Schumachers that are in the area.

We have a lot packed into one weekend but I am excited to see my family!

Last night we went to Brent's grandpa's house for pizza. Lee (Brent's grandpa) turns 81 today!! So we all got together and had a great time. It was a full house I think there was well over 20 of us. It was great to be with the Manz side of the family for the evening.

I hope everyone has a very Happy Easter!

Jack and Friends

Yesterday I was able to spend the afternoon with my "old" central college girls! Nicole, Jaden (Nicole's son), Garra, and I went out for lunch and did some quick shopping. I then got to spend my evening with my little nephew Jack.

This picture was taken by my parents friend Ann. I am IN LOVE with this picture of Jack so I thought I would share it!

Of course I had my camera in my purse but do you think it made an appearance? NO! I'm so horrible at remembering to take pictures! I need to work on that!

Its 4:30ish and I'm already getting ths Sunday night blues!!! I get so sad when the weekend comes to an end! But, I better get back outside, Brent and I have been doing yard work (picking up dog poop and sticks) not really how I would like to spend my sunday afternoon/evening but the weather is B-E-A-UTIFUL so I don't mind being outside!
