I love my dog!

So Brent likes to tease Wrigley and I enjoy watching. After laughing so hard watching him struggle with his new toy I had to get the camera. Of course by the 3rd time of trying out the "joke" he wasn't going for it as much. So the first time this happened imagine him struggling to get his toy even worse! We're so mean!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to the best dad in the world! He has been such a great role model to Ashley, Jameson, and I! I know I am speaking for my siblings but I guarantee they agree that he is one of the best dads who can at times drive you absolutely crazy but we know we can always count on him to help us with whatever our needs may be!
This is one of my favorite pictures of my siblings with my dad

Colorado & Mr. & Mrs. Wellman

Brent spent last week in Colorado with his parents. They left early Monday morning in his parents RV and headed west. They also pulled along a trailer with a pickup on the back so they could have transportation while in Colorado.

My in-laws own a house in Estes Park. The story behind this wonderful house is Coleen and I decided we were going to go find some garage sales while we were on vacation there a few years ago. We came across this gorgeous house that was selling EVERYTHING inside. Well, we all know my father-in-law is a talker and found out that the couple who owned the house was went to a nursing home and were selling the property. Well, by the end of their Colorado trip they bought that house.

We have spent some great times in that house one including Christmas and Brent and I had our engagement pictures taken around their property also. If you want to check out their website for the house http://www.vrbo.com/293908 they do rent it out!

Ray and Stacy Wellman

We all had a great time at Ray and Stacy's wedding. Their wedding was the Saturday before Brent left for Colorado (June 4th). It was great seeing some friends we hadn't seen in a long time!

My afternoon with a mouse...I mean mole!

Today was my day off this week and I had originally planned on doing laundry and cleaning but instead I thought I would try to mow our yard without the assistance of Brent.

I know how to mow, but I don't get a "close" to things as Brent would like me to! I get nervous edging along the ditch and struggle going up some hills. I did learn today that if I lean back I usually can make it up a hill on the 2nd try!

So, I mowed for about 4 hours. It doesn't take Brent that long to mow but I was taking my sweet time jamming out to my ipod. I downloaded The Band Perry's newest (maybe only) CD. I am in LOVE with it!

After mowing the upper half of our yard I came in to get some water and decided I would cut up some strawberries. Brent and I went and picked a butt load of strawberries at my mother in laws house. Since she is in Colorado for about a month I'm in charge of keeping her garden weed free! HAH! And also picking strawberries out of her patch.

ANYHOW, while I was cutting up strawberries a mouse ran across my foot. I FREAKED out..ran into the other room and stood on a chair and called Brent. I insisted he come home pronto and take care of the little creature. I am NOT ok with rodents in my house! Of course, I had no idea where it went after I ran out of the room crying/screaming/shaking! He came home, pulled out the oven, fridge, and dishwasher and of course NO mouse. All I could think was I am not going to sleep tonight knowing there was a mouse loose in our house. And when I informed Brent that I was still scared he told me "Mice do not attack people" wow..thanks Brent I will for sure sleep better tonight.

After finishing cutting up strawberries and making a strawberry pie I decided to go finish mowing down around the grain bins and barns etc. I came back inside to shower and make supper and of COURSE as soon as I get out of the shower, walking to change into some clothes I see the "mouse" I this time feel brave knowing Brent is just outside putting round-up on the laneway and I get the broom (while standing in a towel) and corner the nasty little thing. Yell outside for Brent to come in side NOW because I have the mouse. He walks in and says....That is NOT a mouse that is a mole! WHAT THE HELL!!! Now, I am wishing it was a mouse! ugh, life on the farm. Enjoy the photo shoot Brent had with the "mouse" I mean "Mole" after he got it outside!

First time ever making a pie! I'm anxious to taste it tonight!

I wish this was a tan line! Intsead its what my feet looked like after mowing
Well, hopefully that was the ONLY rodent I find in this house for a very long time or we will NOT be living here much longer!

Start of Summer

It is hard to believe summer is already here. We don't really have any trips planned. We're considering going to Oceans of Fun for a day just the 2 of us or maybe just up to Waterloo to Lost Island water park. Either way, nothing too expensive or that would require a lot of thought.

Brent got home on Friday from a week in Colorado. He drove out with his parents in their RV on Monday and flew home on Friday. I was glad for him to be home. I usually am not scared to stay alone, but WOW its super dark at our house at night and I usually go to bed before Brent so he would take care of locking the doors and shutting off lights! (I'll do a blog about his trip, he actually took some pictures)

This weekend my best friend Amanda's family had a family reunion in Omaha. They invited Brent and I to come to the Storm Chasers game with them on Saturday night. It was a little less than an hour drive for us. I wish Troy and Amanda lived closer! It was so great to see them!

Enjoying the game (Wow, Brent is "tanner" than someone)

Great seats

This was Bird Zerk--He would go around and annoying players and umpires

Tonight we're heading to Defiance, IA for the towns Perish Picnic. Since my in-laws are in Colorado we will be spending my father in laws money at the auction. We also donated some car wash tokens so it will be exciting to see how much those go for. I think Brent was instructed by Chuck to try to get a hog. Last year he got a beef and wants something different.
